What do you think of people that gastric surgery or Lap band to spend to lose weight.?

I'm 5'7 "and weighs about 235. Only recently qualified for Lap Band Surgery. This journey began in May. I am a pre-diabetic, my knees are shot. I have had a psychiatric evaluation, evalation heart, endoscopy, ultra sounds of gallstones. I need to lose 100 pds. I've been all my life heavy. The Gastric Band is only a tool to help me finally get off to a healthy weight. My problem is that I want to tell all my friends and family, but have achieved a bit of negative feedback. How do you feel about people receiving surgery to lose weight.

If you allow others to influence how you feel about the surgery, will fail. You have to keep a positive attitude about it, and then you will succeed. No diet is easy and keep the weight off is often as hard as losing it. You are right, Lap Band surgery is a tool to help you lose weight. But into the context of mind that you are doing this for yourself not for others and then you will succeed. Who cares what others think you are doing this for you. Good luck and I think he's doing the right thing as you will feel much healthier when they took all the extra baggage. Also think about how good it will look. You can for a surprise.
