Gastric Band, Should I?

I am a 30yr old mother of a child of 16 months. I struggled with my weight my whole life and now I'm starting to get very depressed about my appearance. I eat healthy and reduce consumption of salt and sugar, drink only water, but no change. Now I think that surgery is my only option. Gastric Bypass has the shape of many risk involved so I think Lap Band is better. Is there anyone who has had surgery lap band and I could say about it?
