Gastric Bypass Eating Disorder
Gastric bypass or gastric banding?
I have an eating disorder (binge eating disorder) which led me to put in a lot instead of weight over the years. I decided to ask for help .. I am seeing a psychologist and she recommended gastric bypass for when I'm over my bed, but it terrifies me and that maybe the gastric band is a better solution. My BMI is 46-ish and I have 22 so one of the two operations is necessary, but I wonder if anyone has advice? Thanks:)
My husband made the LapBand and had nothing but trouble. He had to get a big needle stuck in port in the stomach while trying to adjust what would work every month for two years. It never has done a good job. Finally, he said he slipped and was carried and gave out a gastric bypass. Now, he is doing with this wonderful and losing a game and not hungry. It is much better. Each person is different and should educate themselves before making decisions, but just wanted to let you know what our experience has been with the LapBand. What might work great for some people, but it was nothing more than problems for us.
