Lap Band Patients
would lap band surgery is the best for my husband?
My husband was diagnosed with diabetes type 2, has high blood pressure and want help losing weight through lap band surgery. He does not have the bypass stomach, but we were at the seminary and the doctor pushed the stomach for diabetes patients. we see the biggest loser if these guys to withdraw their drugs all the time. I ask for serious answers to anyone who has had this type of surgery and was able to obtain weight under control enough to reduce their doses of their medicines and how much weight was lost in the first year?
My husband had two lapband and gastric bypass done. The lapband was almost useless to him and that caused problems for 2 years until they put him out and gave the ring road. The derivation is the development of good for him. He got it done by mid-January and until now he has lost 74 pounds. We have done much research on this beforehand and thought we were going to try first because it lapband was less invasive and not all problems such as dumping, malnutrition, etc. that can happen with the bypass. The group worked for a while, then it slid that made quite miserable and had no weight loss. Many doctors love to pass on people who suffer from obesity disease instead of lapband because it seems to work better on them to lose weight and keep it off. Someone who needs to lose over 100 pounds. Good Friend of mine who had the bypass poorly controlled diabetes and all the other things that come with morbid obesity such as hypertension, back pain, knee problems problems walking, etc. All this is gone with his weight loss. She used to take insulin twice a day. Now She did not even need a pill. Diabetes is completely gone. All the others left too. I must say it saved life and I am so happy for her. It is one of success stories. My husband had to change his lifestyle completely. He still loves his food and loves to eat food. He can not eat much of what is a good thing. He gets sick if he eats too much, but he is learning to manage his body for food. He has not hungry, which is the really great thing about it. It was difficult the first month, when he was on liquids, but it is now easier thereafter. He said he never wants to watch a popsicle for the rest of his life. LOL. My husband is just starting to get to the point down some of its drugs. His doctor kidney has halved its Lasix. I think they will be lowering its blood pressure medication for the next visit because it starts to be too low today. He is not diabetic, so I can not say anything about it. His back pain is not so bad now, and it can walk much further and much more. I have no bug to take the dog for a walk now. He likes to do. He has no swelling of the feet and legs more. Therefore they decreased the Lasix. You should really learn about it before doing anything else. The reason why doctors pressure for the bypass for patients with diabetes because the bypass works best for losing weight and it is so important for anyone suffering from diabetes to control their weight. We know that diabetes can actually disappear repeatedly once the weight comes off. I can not tell you that is what will happen to your husband, but I can tell you what has been our experience with this. Good luck in whatever you decide to do.
